Job Vacancies for 2016
Part time committed instrumental teachers required for small group teaching (maximum 4 students per group) in 4 Primary schools in Aspendale, Dingley, Bentleigh and East Bentleigh. The work will commence at the start of Term 1 in 2016.
Instrumental Teachers Required
Guitar & Ukulele: 10-14 regular hours per week (it is mostly guitar teaching but there are a few ukulele students as well).
Violin: 2-4 regular hours per week but very likely to increase.
Trumpet & Trombone:2-4 regular hours per week but likely to increase.
Teacher also needed for ABC Music Program (6-8 regular hours per week) which is a program where children try out a range of instruments over 2 terms (presently the instruments trialled are guitar, percussion, flute, recorder, ukulele, clarinet, keyboard, trumpet and saxophone but this can be adapted to suit the musical skills of the teacher). Students have 1-2 lessons trying each instrument. If you are interested in applying for this job please list 8 instruments you would be able to include in this program.
For teachers of guitar, violin and brass you need to be competent to teach students up to grade 2-3 AMEB standard. For teachers of the ABC music program – you don’t need to be an expert in all of the instruments trialled as each instrument is only trialled for a two week period.
Preference will be given to someone who can teach more than one instrument. (Guitar/ukulele teacher most needed but preference will be given to a guitar teacher who can teach other instruments as well).
The applicant needs to be someone with energy and enthusiasm, preferably with experience in working with children in small groups but this is not essential. The successful applicant must also be able to obtain or currently have a “Working with Children check” and be a reliable and organised person.
I am also looking for someone who is looking to stay for the long term and would be willing to take on more work as the business expands.
