Beginner ABC Music Program
If you are not sure which instrument your child would like to learn students can choose to enrol
in the BEGINNER ABC MUSIC PROGRAM which runs over 2 terms. This fun and stimulating program
enables students to try a variety of instruments supplied by us and you are only charged for the lessons.
This is a golden opportunity for your child to experience music, work out which musical instrument is suited
to your child and have a lot of fun in the process. At the end of the program a written report is given to parents
to let them know which instrument is suited to the skills and interest of their child.
The instruments trailed in the ABC program are as follows:
Junior ABC – Prep – Gr 2: recorder (a good lead in to flute & sax), percussion, ukulele, keyboard, guitar, violin & basic theory
Senior ABC – Gr 3 – 6: keyboard, guitar, percussion, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, ukulele & basic theory
Tuition fees for The Beginner ABC music program is $255 ($245 sibling rate).
(Please note that this fee covers 2 terms of tuition).
The maximum number in a group for the ABC music program is 6 students.
Other Program Information:
Lessons are all 30 minutes and are scheduled at various times throughout the school day.
(We aim to work out a lesson time that is least disruptive to the class timetable). Depending on enrolment numbers, after school timeslots may also be available but this varies from year to year.
Children are required to have their own instrument and bring it to school for their weekly lesson.(The only exception to this is keyboard where keyboards are provided for lessons at school but students still need their own for home practice).
Many of the instruments are relatively affordable to buy (under $100) but if you would like some advice re: purchasing or hiring instruments see the separate drop down menu on the front page.
Written progress reports are sent out in terms 1 & 3 of each year.
We have an end of year concert for families & students & other performing opportunities are encouraged where possible.
